Back to business. Concerning my post yesterday at Probe Discuss I've written it already
as an answer to Taz, when I saw your post and then I added the first line saying, that I
agree with you partly, meaning you are totally correct, but I don't want to second the
flaming, although my feelings are touched too.
First of all, these two links to "Dilyns Team Report" and "Current Status" is a way to
build up a classical "Catch 22"-Situation. Whatever we might do, we can be proved as
fools. And it had been used definitely that way, unwillingly as I consider, by saying at
"Current Status": "Hey you dummies, over a period of weeks, we tell you to save you
communication abilities ..." Same time same voice is saying at "Dilyns Team Report":
"Hey dummies, another mission landing this early is highly unlikely." -- Then saying:
"MARSupials are too easily manipulated by this outside source, AS" but on the other
hand they are too dumb to take this warning seriously for weeks. -- Then just changing
substantial rules how probes should be treated. Remember in first days, we could only
move the probes by "playing games". We changed that already by talking with them
about duties and by giving them direct orders and advises. But saying: "MARSupials
need to be reminded that the probes are TOOLS for a purpose." Grand Zero, that's
exactly, as you said, the unsuccessful approach of H&P. Thanks to be blamed for that
Mr./Mrs. ANONYMOUS. -- Then blaming Andrew, for he is moving to the observation
room, although we have sent him over there, blaming him and us for something, we
haven't got even the time to react, as the information just came in. That's a way to be
blamed, I've to watch my fingers not to make a sign.
Same way, same site, Zachary is blamed for acting as he had been told. The way this
UNKNOWN WRITER also characterizes the probes is ridiculous and the way orders
are placed that way in direction of the MARSupials are- with all my understatement
I can effort - simply a shame.
Concerning this PERSON WITHOUT A NAME, I just can consider a deep feeling of
frustration and concerning this matter, I feel, e-mails has been running in the back-scene
for quite a while. So separation of stuff and audience has occurred in an unhealthy way.
As I assume, the stuff has an idea how the story should proceed and therefore depends
on the (re)action of the MARSupials. But these "dumb" MARSupials aren't acting in
that manner and in that way, as it had been prospected by the stuff, though a lot of hints
had been given to lead these dummies. -- I know, that sucks. -- It is exactly just like in a
non functioning family, where real communication had been shut down for quite a long
time, but back-scene conversation is still running. You know the main issue in these
families ?? It's: "He/she hasn't acted the right way (as I wanted)". For example: "Yes, I
wanted a camera at Christmas, but not THAT camera" or "Have you seen, what that
dummy has done again?" -- As stated in my post at Probe Discuss: No solution had been
found yet in any case, I know, by saying: "dummy opposites". I can't accept that as a
point of view, simple and easy because it is self-referential. --
However, what I can state is a lag of communication. This wonders, as MarsDawn has a
lot of places to meet each other. Nevertheless, except of Dr.D, who is dealing close with
the audience at Probe Discuss, except of T-Bird, who has stepped in lately, and except
of Murphy, who is doing a great service at Messhall, no other member of the stuff has
shown up at a regular base to participate at Probe Discussion, nor to mention his/her
feelings as a member of stuff at Messhall. Some of them are missed for months !! When
have you shown up the last time, Mrs. Dilyn ?? How often have I seen you, Nimrod,
RedWing, SkyKing ?? -- It's true, this lag of communication has been leading directly
into a situation being as apart of the boards as this "Dilyn's Team Report" and this
"Current Status" has shown.
As stated at the beginning of this post, this "Dilyn's Team Report" and this "Current
Status" is a classical "Catch 22" The performance MARSupials can be impeded by the
plot (nearly no doorway can be passed without being stuck for several days, threads as
the gate in the canyon, the contact with Daniel, the contact with the ET's, the contact
with Bette, the exploration of Andrew's cave are just (temporarily) cut off) The
MARSupials are also hindered by natural lag of information ( no map of surrounding
can be drawn as distances are changing continuously, official maps of Mars are useless,
no schema of tunnels can be drawn either, resources brought in by Stage 2 are unknown
until now for no good reasons etc.) There is no overall puzzle to be put together as in a
board game, but there is a plot, the MARSupials are also participatory reliable to in a
proactive way, as stated by T-Bird. Anyway, when moving the probes the MARSupials
has to act like being blind depending what the probes are reporting, then giving advises.
But that way, we are not able to find your clues, you probably might or might not have
hidden. That way we depend on your good will to proceed the plot according to final
objectives, we are now ready to formulate in a more dense way. That way we also need
your participation at Probe Discuss and/or at Messhall to balance our intentions, so we
are pulling at the same rope and don't slide apart as happened. That way we don't need
to be blamed in authoritarian way using an authoritarian instrument giving us NAME-
LESS orders like: "Recommend to Enoch that all future team efforts be reserved for
functional probes. - Subvert any desire for independent action on Andrews part. - Get
Gail a shrink. - Take a firm tone with Zachary" That doesn't fit. There are other orders
coming into my mind, I could give that NON-SIGNING AUTHOR, which are pretty
common in talking but not in writing and I'm known to have very uneven expressions,
though rarely used. :-)
Please, don't misunderstand, it's fun to direct the probes and each probe has developed
his/her own character. We like them and we like the charming way they are reporting.
But please, show up at the usual meeting places to discuss what ever you like and what
ever is needed, and please get rid of these "dummy" two links. There is no way at all to
use them in any adequate form, neither signed nor unsigned.
OK, that had been a long post to broaden my feelings just about one item. Nevertheless,
there are more items, to talk about and I would like to mention my ideas and probably
outlooks as well. Don't worry, I will do it anyway in a separate post ...
