Um, dynamic mics...it's ringing a bell somewhere in the back of my brain, but I can't for the life of me remember the definition.  Yes, it's been several years since I was at Berklee.  I remember back when I was your age... :)<p>I was thinking more along the lines of the circuitry in the mixer, i.e., possible that those three inputs were on a separate path from the others so the surge didn't even get to the rest, or that those three inputs absorbed the surge before it reached the other inputs & mics.<p>-Psiclops
