You guys that know sound equipment, I have a little problem (actually a couple of little problems). I know precious little about such matters, but because of my position as music director of a little church, am having to deal with it.

In my system I have several microphones of different types feeding into an 8-slot mixer (not powered). The mixer feeds to a 100 watt power amp which feeds the speakers.

First problem:
The adjustment pot (volume knob) on the power amp seemed to have a short of dirty contacts. You really have to monkey with it to get it to make contact and sometimes it cuts out (with a crackel). Is there any good way to clean those contacts or will I need to send the power amp in for repair?

Second problem:
I have a 7-slot 100 watt powered mixer that we were given by another church. I took the other mixer and the problematic power amp out and ran the mic's into the 7-slot mixer and the mixer directly to the speakers. Seems to work OK, except...
All the microphones worked with the other system. Now I can only get 3 of the 6 microphones to work. I swapped mic's, cables, and ports all around and the three good mic's work with all the cables and all the ports. The three other mic's which worked with the other system don't work now with any cable or port.

Any hints, help and/or suggestions will be welcome.
You can e-mail me if you like.

Thanx!!!
