Hello to all my Friends, the MARSupials,
I am not sure which 'growth' thread to post to, so I'll just start here.
Some of you may have noticed that my rocking has been quite empty, but I often run in for a quick cup of coffee-to-go. I hope someone else has been relaxing there in my chair.
All the talk about growth is becoming very complicated. It is good to see so many worthwhile ideas being tossed in the hat. These are some of what I see as priorities.
1. Posts to Probes. Some kind of limits are necessary to protect them from. . .whatever. Also, to help us know when someone such a P & H are part of the storyline or interlopers.
I would be quite content to be able to make suggestions to team leaders (if I ever had any ideas) and not post to Probes themselves. Wouldn't mind having my name mentioned though.
2. Recognition of ex-commies even some of us are primarily lurkers. An officer's club does sound a little elitist, however. I enjoy knowing what is going on behind the scenes and feel that the Mess Hall can fulfill this need adequately.
3. Limiting hit-and-run or offensive posters by some means. Level 0 and Level 1 type access seem feasible.
4. Marsdawn products. Love the idea.
5. Donations not fees. Especially if a product is part of the deal.
6. Some way to encourage young people, whether sick or well, to join us.
I have probably more thoughts, and am not sure I am expressing my feelings well, but my main idea is:
Keep it simple, but do plan for the future!!
