Hi Kanga,
Geez, we're like public television. ;-) I'm not making light of your generous offer, just trying to keep it light, since you really got to me there. Your point is well made, there are many ways to generate reveune, and donations is one of them. (Like public tv.) I think that we can keep the site growing for a while
with the existing tools and talent that we have. It's the *really* long term that concerns me most. Even these short term changes will be time consuming and hard, but we can do it with the
"free" technology that we have. No revenue required. It's the long term that worries me. The world is entering a new era of web based entertainment, and I'd love for MarsDawn to be a leader in that. At some point, money will be a part of that equation, but not just yet, I think. Would it possible to run a site funded by donations? I don't know, and I don't think anyone does for sure.
You make an interesting point. Could we have some comments from everyone about this please??? Pretty please, with sugar on top?
(No, I'm not Parker or Hardon, just making a small joke.) :-)
When it comes to revenues, we're not just discussing MarsDawn. We're speculating on what might work in the new world of web based entertainment. Your comments are right in character for a wood sprite. This elf salutes you.
