Looks like the concensus is: We must grow. Marsdawn staff had numerous discussions of levels of access during preparation
before the site opened. A careful balance is needed to preserve interactivity:
We treasure the contributions made by the Marsupials. Please
believe me, the only thing more fun than following the probes'
adventures is seeing things from "backstage".
I think interactivity is our strength, but it is not feasible
to read and respond to 50 or so posts to the probes daily.
I am against fees or charges. I would not have registered at
Eon 4 if I thought it was going to cost anything. (And they
said I had Level 4 access!) Did everyone have to register to
access Eon-4, or did they eventually drop that?
I believe that complicated access levels would be discouraging
to newbies. I think that lurker to read/registered to post/
honored marsupial (with some way to achieve this lofty status)
is probably the maximum.
Above all, we want to seem friendly and accessible.
