I tend to appreciate the more intimate feeling of the smaller crowd we enjoy here. Some new blood would be a help, but I am opposed to the notion of opening the floodgates and allowing any flotsam and jetsam to enter.
Perhaps those who make more use of the USENET than I might be able to suggest an area or two for such ads that would reach a select audience containing those we would wish to seek? There is no guarantee that we won't attract a few jerks and malcontents even with such a carefully placed ad, but I think we would significantly reduce the risk.
Zero, your timing on this issue is good. As things are beginning to reach a new level of interest, now is the time to get some new people involved. Of course, now is also the time to get some of our old people involved too. There are some conspicuous absences here that are keenly felt. Come on lurkers!
