Although I sorta saw it coming (see my post at Area-51) I will admit to being the biggest April fool today. However, since I did believed the big doofus, I called up Physicians Without Borders (yes there really is such an organization based in Dallas) to make sure all of Flak's and Manx's arrangements were satisfactory. The man, Howard was his name, said that they showed no record of any Tim Erskine and that they do not have operations in Madagascar, and further that their assignments are 6 months maximum. Since I was so sure an honest mistake had been made and knowing Flak's and Manx's lifelong dream of helping the less fortunate, I arranged for a six months assignment in Zaire, helping with the relief efforts there. Sorry old buddy, I know it's only 6 mos. and not Madagascar, but I'm sure you can be of even more help there. What a rewarding experience for you. Your non-refundable *first class* tickets should be arriving within the week. You leave April 16 (just enough time to get your taxes in) with an overnight layover in Algiers.
We'll miss you, pal, but I know you'll be rewarded richly for your humanitarian compassion.
Here, you won't need that jacket where you're going. I'll hold it for you while you're gone.
