Thanks for the explanation Jay. I already knew some of what you are saying, as I have an older brother that had been a radio
newsman for many years. He has told me many times about deadlines
and how sometimes, within a minute or so, it's simlpy a matter of tearing the next story off the teletype and making it to the mic
by "newstime". He says it doesn't matter much whether or not the
story is relevant or had already been told, he just had to be on time.
Hmmm, teletype, do they still use those old machines anymore?
